Several weeks ago, my son Brian and I were asked by Mark Taylor, editor of Christian Standard to reflect on the general question “Does the Restoration Movement Matter?” by answering six questions.  It was a challenging assignment, in part, because each of us had only 1000 words to answer all six questions.  You may be interested in our responses.

My concern is that many congregations associated with the Restoration Movement (or the Stone-Campbell Movement) have ceased to be a movement and that we have entrenched ourselves into a stifling traditionalism.  If God theatened remove a lampstand from its place, as he did the formidable congregation like the one in Ephesus (Rev. 2:1ff.), will he not leave a movement should that movement cease to be true to its ideals?
